Many writers lived and wrote in Paris, the city of lights.
Ms Douglass's French class will be re-creating the Paris cafe scene.
Students will become the writers .

Exciting news! 10th grade ELA scholars are participating in a Big Read symposium on October 28th from 1:12 pm to 2:40 pm in the library at Poughkeepsie High School:


In partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and the Poughkeepsie Public Library, selected classes at PHS are participating in the NEA Big Read of Into the Beautiful North by Luis Alberto Urea. This program is designed to broaden our understanding of our world, our communities, and ourselves through the joy of sharing a good book

Technology is being used in the library:

  • to engage our students with content
  • to encourage higher order thinking skills
  • to collaborate
  • to create and build knowledge

The LMC Space

The PHS Library offers students a place to read, study and work independently or collaboratively. We have space for large groups and individual study.

Students have access to print and digital resources and a wide range of technology in the library.

The library is staffed with a Library Media Specialist who can help students access and use the resources and technology.
